Chur! My stay was pretty good, eh? The room was clean and comfy, and I loved the meals. But the wifi was dodgy, and the shower could've been better.

Solo traveler, an lovely escape
I had an very nice experience staying just two nights, where I was greeted by friendly staff. The meals were out of this world, especially the Cumbrian breakfast, fresh and cooked to perfection!
It wasn't exactly budget-friendly, but considering the overall experience, it was still worth it.

The Sandford Arms was a delightful retreat with stunning views over the fells. The room was spacious, comfortably furnished, and included a bath, which was a lovely touch. the distance from Appleby made it a slight challenge to navigate initially.

missingWrote a review on 09 Aprroom condition
Upon arrival, the first impression was underwhelming with a courtyard that felt somewhat neglected. In my room, the wardrobe doors were chipped, and I found the carpet covered in fluff, which somewhat ruined the comfort factor. Service during my second dinner was slower, and a couple of my dinner choices weren't available, which was a letdown when paired with the lack of attention for drink refills. I faced confusion over billing, as I was charged for drinks I did not consume and had difficulty getting clarity on the supplemental fees from the owner.

Charming Atmosphere with Delicious Food
The welcoming ambiance, especially with the cozy log fire and lovely decorations, made for a delightful dining experience. I savored a beautifully cooked meal, particularly enjoying the roast beef, which was truly satisfying. The staff were attentive, and I appreciated their willingness to engage with guests, creating a friendly atmosphere. it would have been ideal if the breakfast options were available earlier for those needing to leave early.
